Presuming Ed are:
Beth-Marie Norbury: Vocals
Beth has been our female vocalist for the last 11 years. She started life as a dancer and found her love for singing in musical theatre. Then boys convinced her to give rock and roll a chance and she joined Presuming Ed. By day she works for a well known brand helping their employees to perform, and is kept on her toes by her two young girls. Beth (not so) secretly loves a power ballad!
Andy Walters: Vocals and Guitar
Born and raised in Aberdare, Andrew began playing the violin at the age of 8, but has always had a keen interest in popular music. He studied music at Cardiff University, where he first started to sing, joining Presuming Ed shortly afterwards. Andrew also works as a string arranger and session musician with the Vulcan String Quartet, working for numerous bands and producers worldwide including Mel C, Charlotte Church and the Manic Street Preachers and has also appeared on national television programmes such as Later With Jools Holland and Strictly Come Dancing.
Andy Mulligan: Guitar and Vocals
Andy started playing guitar at school in Liverpool, influenced in equal parts by John Williams and Jimi Hendrix! He has taught and played professionally in South Wales for nearly 20 years now, as a soloist and in a variety of ensembles. Away from music Andy’s other rock n roll pastimes include tending to his allotment, looking after a beloved flock of urban chickens and building model railways for his sons amusement.
Nick Bristow: Bass and Vocals
An experienced musician, Nick has played in live bands since school age, as a lead singer, rhythm guitarist, keyboard player, and bass player. Nick moved from his hometown of Tewkesbury, to study Music at Cardiff Uni in 1997, where he first met ‘Ed’ guitarist Andy Mulligan! For his ‘day job’, Nick is currently Head of Music at Treorchy Comprehensive School, in the South Wales Valleys. Nick loves nothing more than playing a live gig, and if you’re buying, by the way, he’ll have a pint of Guinness please….!
Trevor Watt: Keyboards
Trevor initially embarked on a musical career but discovered some years later that he had become a solicitor by mistake. He still spends most of his days wondering where it all went so terribly wrong. In yet another previous life he was described as ‘ the most surly barman in Bristol.’ Outside rock ‘n roll his main pastime is being outsmarted at every turn by his two year old daughter.
Alun Hathaway: Drums
Alun is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he studied orchestral percussion and drum kit. As one of Wales’ most versatile percussionists, Alun is often seen performing with orchestras, jazz ensembles, musical theatre groups as well as rock and folk bands. Alun is a keen football supporter and when not out gigging he follows the mighty Burton Albion at both home and away matches.
